indicator

3.4.1.b --- Mortality rate attributed to cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes or chronic respiratory disease; Men

Source: ÅSUB, Statistics Finland
The mortality rate due to certain diseases as defined here is, strictly speaking, not a rate (i.e. the number of deaths divided by the number of population at risk during a certain period of time), but a probability of death derived from a life table and expressed as a rate. Methodology: Number of deaths at age 30-69 and population of the same age are used to calculate death rates which are then converted into age-specific probability of dying. Formula. q(x)=2*n*m(x)/2+n*m(x), where m(x) is death rate and n=40.
Deceased due to malignant neoplasms (C00-C97), diabetes mellitus (E10-E14), diseases of the circulatory system (I00-I99), chronic lower respiratory tract diseases (J40-J47) and other diseases of the respiratory system (J00-J06, J20-J39, J60-J99)
