The data for day care activities, family day care, and after-school care refer to the situation as of December 31 each year. The play activities refer to the average number of children on a regular activity day. Information about the age of the children in play activities is not available. In 2022, the number of children is reported separately for Waldorf Åland and the Mariehamn Parish. In previous years, the children were reported under the municipality that purchased services from the respective daycare centres. Up to and including 2011, children in after-school care (both seven- and eight-year-olds) are included among the seven-year-olds in daycare in Mariehamn. The same applies to seven-year-olds in daycare in Jomala and Lemland, but only up to and including 2016. Data on children in after-school programmes for all municipalities are reported (separately) from 2023 onwards.
