The data in euros are expressed in the value of the latest statistical year. Income concept: Disposable monetary income (incl. sales profits) per consumption unit and household-dwelling unit, main income items per household-dwelling unit. Consumption unit
Income and consumption expenditure calculated per consumption unit can be used to compare households of different sizes and structures. There are several ways of calculating consumption units. The selected consumption unit scale has a significant effect on income levels and on placement of different population groups in the income distribution. The scale used here is the equivalence scale of Eurostat where:
• the first adult of the household receives the weight 1
• other over 13-year-olds receive the weight 0.5
• children receive the weight 0.3 (0 to 13-year-olds). Because of changes in the definition of income, the figures for 1995-2009 are not quite comparable to those for 2010 and later.
